![]() Two recent road trips from JAX, FL West Palm Beach, FL & JAX, FL Asheville, NC in the hot summer months confirmed this. Their mission is to accelerate the worlds transition to sustainable energy. I find with the tint, ESPECIALLY the CR90 on the pano & windshield, in the summer months on road trips helps the A/C so it doesn't have to work nearly as hard and thus consuming more energy. is an energy + technology company originally from California and currently headquartered in Austin, Texas. ![]() As we know bumping the A/C up by 1F can have an impact on energy consumption. Both have great heat rejection without having a. After tinting all the windows, I turned off mirror autodim and only turn it back on if I'm going for long (1+ hour drives) in the dark My advice is to find the best installer possible. 3m crystalline is an excellent one as is the Llumar Stratos. Recently got the Tesla Trifecta done PPF/Ceramic/Tint loving the car and I would like to thing the tint has brought temps down inside Tried to match the Windows with 3M CIR - 70/30/70 - Front/front sides/rear+rear window Also threw on some 19' Volk TE37s with some 275/45/19 tires and still not loving the ride. I went with Spectra Photosync IRD 55 in the rear this time - it is slightly darker but visibility was already bad anyways, I don't think it has impacted anything. while I didn't think much of this since you can turn the car's A/C on remotely, what I didn't anticipate was the benefit to road trips. PhotoSync is the best one but its damn expensive. It has a huge impact on the heat in the car. FL law says no darker than 15% on front doors & 20% behind that. The 15% is technically illegal where I live (FL) but had no issue from cops (knocking on wood). couldn't do it the same day as the CR90 since it was still a bit wet). Video & pix below (the strip on the windshield isn't them as I had that added yesterday. There are only 2 installers in AZ that I know of: Cactus Auto Tint in Scottsdale and Affordable Window Tinting in Tucson. this is 100% clear (you can't tell it's even been applied at all except in the area where the teflon strip & dots are along the edges) & blocks 99.97% UV. I never heard of Tesla recommending tinting companies in AZ, but the best tint to get for AZ is PhotoSync and neither of the companies you mentioned are installers for this product. So today I got a full run down of how tint works and the benefits each products provide. They accused us of removing the panel and fixing the regulator with yellow tape. There is so much that goes into tinted windows that many youtube videos leave out. The pano sunroofs & windshield also have 3M Crystaline (CR-90) on them. I tinted my M3 for 320, my brother tinted it, had an issue with the window regulator or whatever and Tesla said that the tint could had caused it because it may have thrown it out of spec. WHAT: I've got 3M FX-HP 15 (15% light allowed thru) on all doors, the rear windshield & in a small strip across the top of the front windshield. I have not tinted mine yet but probably will in the next few weeks.Seen bunch of questions in different forums about tinting a Model S, & had a few questions when I mentioned deep in another post, so posting my experience here. It was flawless.Ĭactus was NOT, cheap though it was about $1,500-$1,750 if I recall correctly depending on options and if you did all 4 side windows, back window, front pano-roof, and windshield. ![]() Also Tesla honored their original price (my roof is pretty complex) so it ended up being a good deal. But the end product is beautiful and works great. The roof took 2 full weeks and they had to do a ton of work. The only two shops in the valley factory certified in both were:īut Cactus was the only one that did the back window in a single piece of tint, and there are quite a few threads at TMC where people were unhappy with the look if the whole window wasn’t done with a single sheet.Ī Better Tint didn’t return multiple phone calls asking for quotes and references of other customers.Ĭactus provided two references whom I spoke to, one which was kind enough to meet up so I could see the completed job. Nikola Tesla (, Jul 10, 1856Jan 7, 1943) was a prolific inventor and visionary pioneer of electrical and mechanical engineering, chemistry and physics. Got Tesla Solar Roof installed last November after a year of design permitting and price hikes, but in the end they came through. See r/TeslaLounge for relaxed posting, and user experiences Tesla Inc. Another Redditor and I looked into a few options but were only investigating 3M Chrystaline and Spectra PhotoSync.
